This program was created as a result of the LTAP Needs Assessment which indicated that there was a need for heavy equipment training and certification for local agencies in Arizona. The program aims to provide local agencies with the skills and knowledge to operate and maintain heavy equipment safely and efficiently. The program also offers certification for operators who demonstrate competency in various types of heavy equipment, such as backhoe, loader, grader, excavator, and more.
The heavy equipment training and certification program is offered at no cost to local agencies that are contributing member agencies of LTAP AZ. The program is delivered by experienced instructors who use a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on practice, and field demonstrations. The program can be customized to meet the specific needs and preferences of each local agency.
